Service Recognition Program

The City of San Bruno Service Recognition Program provides a way to honor the contributions of individuals or groups who have provided dedicated service to the San Bruno community.

Two forms of recognition have been established by the City Council: Special Service Recognition and Extraordinary Service Recognition. Nomination for either award must be made by one or more recognized San Bruno organizations.

Both the Special and Extraordinary Service Recognition honor individuals and organizations who have served the community in a significant manner over an extended period of time. The nature of this service must demonstrate a positive impact on San Bruno residents and the individual or organization must be viewed as a community role model. Their contributions should be evident by new or enhanced programs or new or improved City facilities.

Recognition SculptureTo be eligible for Special Service Recognition, individuals and organizations must have a minimum of 15 years of dedicated service to the San Bruno community. Awardees are recognized with a 4 inches by 6 inches commemorative bronze plaque on the San Bruno Recognition Sculpture in City Park.

To be eligible for Extraordinary Service Recognition, individuals and groups must have 25 years of dedicated service to the San Bruno community. Awardees are recognized with a 5 inches by 7 inches commemorative bronze plaque on the San Bruno Recognition Sculpture in City Park.

All costs related to the preparation of the Special Service Recognition, including the cost of the plaque, shall be borne by the nominating organization. Costs related to the Extraordinary Service Recognition shall be borne by the City of San Bruno. Plaques will be inscribed with the honorees first and last name, years of service, name(s) of organization(s) served, and dedication date.
