Donations
The San Bruno Public Library and the Friends of the San Bruno Library are pleased to accept books, DVDs and puzzles with no missing pieces. Donations are either given to the Friends to stock their sale area in the Library lobby, or they are added to the Library collection at the discretion of the Library staff. We request that donations be limited to 2 bags or boxes per week per household. We are happy to accept materials in very good condition with the exception of the following:
- Textbooks
- Computer manuals older than two years
- Magazines
- Dirty, mildewed, or otherwise damaged materials
- Encyclopedias or other dated reference materials
- VHS tapes
- Cassette tapes
- CDs
- Foreign language material other than Spanish
Please leave donations with staff at the Circulation Desk during regular Library hours. While staff is not able to affix a value to donated materials for tax purposes, we are happy to issue a receipt upon request. Staff reserves the right to refuse gifts upon which restrictions are placed.
If we are unable to accept your donation, you may contact our neighboring libraries or other local organizations for their donations policies.
